Calvary Health Care Bethlehem



Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB) provides a range of inpatient, community and ambulatory services for people with progressive neurological diseases.

CHCB is the statewide provider of services to people with progressive neurological diseases (Huntington’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, , Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsonian Syndromes) providing interdisciplinary assessment and management services for people with complex needs as well as offering individuals access to local and international research programs.

We have a large multidisciplinary team including:

Medical: Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Respiratory and Palliative Care Specialists

Allied Health: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians, Clinical Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, Social Workers and Music Therapists

Specialist Neurological Nurses: who help coordinate care, communicating with patients and their families

Pastoral care workers and Volunteers

Researcher Clinicians

We work closely with other acute, sub-acute and community health professionals and service providers including community-based organisations such as Huntington’s Victoria.

Clinic visits can also be supplemented by telehealth and video-conferencing, when people live at a distance or are unable to travel to clinic.

Our team provides secondary consultation, education, and training to health professionals across the state, to support care closer to home.

The Statewide PND service is committed to research and is actively involved in a number of national and international research projects and trials. (Please contact the service for further details)

HRGV aims to advance knowledge about the cause(s), pathogenesis, clinical and social impacts of Huntington’s disease and related disorders and to develop and implement scientific strategies promising therapeutic and psychosocial interventions.

We require participants for our numerous studies. Most studies offer some form of compensation for your time.
